• Melissa Schulte, President

    Before joining Black Ankle in 2009 and becoming our general manager, Melissa worked in legislative politics and has a strong background in research and entrepreneurial fundraising. As the President of Friends of Rescate, she implements these skills to supervise and improve all of our functions and ensure state and federal compliance.

  • Anne Torres, Vice President

    Anne spent her early childhood in Acopinalco del Peñón, Tlaxcala, Mexico, and has cherished memories of her hometown. She and her family now live in the historic farmhouse at Black Ankle with her father, Evencio, managing our vineyard. Anne says, “Project Rescate is the foundation to a better future for those young generations; our children need something better than playing in the streets. Project Rescate will give our people the tools and the strength to help young generations find the way to a healthy and successful life.”

  • Christina Calloway, Treasurer

    As Black Ankle’s Director of Marketing, Christina’s insight and creativity are invaluable to Friends of Rescate. In her position on the Board of Directors, she brings her knowledge of our vineyard crew and their stories together with a keen marketing strategy.

  • Luis Alberto Osorno, Secretary

    Luis is an integral part of our vineyard crew at Black Ankle, coming to us from Acopinalco del Peñón, Tlaxcala, Mexico. As our Secretary, he ensures excellent continuity and organization, as well as general communication for Project Rescate. In his own words, “Project Rescate means hope for everyone in the community.”

  • Jose Javier Osorno, Board Member

    Jose holds Acopinalco del Peñón dear as his hometown. Jose says, “I want to help create a positive environment to encourage everyone to play sports.” Jose joined the Board of Directors seeking to bring this hope to fruition.

  • Fabian Torres, Board Member

    Fabian is a member of the community in Acopinalco del Peñón. He says, “I am tired of witnessing how the government ignores our town’s requests to help us improve our community. I want to make a change because we care about our youth.” Fabian sincerely believes that Project Rescate will bring back the peace that drugs have taken away from the community.

  • Juan Torres, Board Member

    Juan is deeply passionate about Project Rescate as he has seen the way that drugs, robberies, and many more criminal activities have influenced the lives of many teenagers in his hometown in a negative way. He says, “Project Rescate will have a positive influence on many people.”
